Giurgiuleshti port rules, port of Moldova on Danube river
Please find below and attached information useful for the approach to Giurgiulesti. Some is for informational purposes only relating to the Maritime Danube which is not under the control of Danube Logistics. The attached checklist has to be filled in at the arrival to Giurgiulesti.
Please note berthing during night time is possible if weather permitting.

BERTHING POSSIBLE DURING HOURS OF DARKNESS IF WEATHER PERMITING

FINAL APPROACH
In addition to required ship's arrival notifications, please inform Danube Logistics when the vessel passes Danube Mile 44. VESSEL MUST NOT PASS LAST SAFE ANCHORAGE up to date information from the pilot. At approximately Mile 70-71,5 the Giurgiulesti port pilot will board the vessel; at this time final permission to enter the River Prut and approach the berth should be sought by the Master from Giurgiulesti Harbor Master on Channel 16.
PORT PILOT
Please note that the Giurgiulesti International Free Port (GIFP) port pilot will board your vessel at approximately Danube Mile 70-71,5 (on the Ukrainian side of the fairway) from the Romanian flagged tugboat "Multratug 21" exact vessel subject to alteration. The Maritime Danube pilot will disembark via pilot boat whenever it is safe to do so.
BERTHING
Towage is compulsory in Giurgiulesti International Free Port and "Multratug 21" (1300HP) is required to assist with berthing on the River Prut exact tugs subject to replacement with similar tugs of over 1300 HP. The vessel is to be berthed starboard alongside (facing upstream).
BOARDING
Danube Logistics, Trans Cargo Terminal and limited Moldovan government officials will board the vessel for documentation purposes. Please find attached checklists of required documents.
MODERN PORT - ZERO TOLERANCE
Please note we have a strict zero-tolerance of corruption matters in the port. Please inform the agent immediately if any person who boards your vessel in Giurgiulesti asks for any kind of unofficial payment. In this regard please do not even offer cigarettes to the officials.
